Who are some of your faves and why? And before some girl mensions him, Dane Cook is not funny in my oppinion. Just putting that out there so it doesn't sneak up and surprise us.
Let's discuss him and whoever else in the world of comedians we love or hate.
I like Deniss Leary, Bill Hicks, Geoff Ross, Mich Hedberg, Nick Swartson (though he's metro almost to the point of being a girl), Daniel Tosh, and all those comedians who play guitar and sing in their act. Accept for Stephen Lynch, that is. Not necessarily because he's not funny, he's just been doing the same damned material since 2005.

Eddie Murphy, his old stand up. Get a copy of Delirious and you're guaranteed to laugh your ass off. Also George Carlin, again his old stuff. His new stuff was all right too, but he repeats a lot of his material.

Dane Cook, is funny, and I'm a guy.

Dave Shapell, is pretty funny.

As for the guitars, and the pianos in the acts, it's getting a bit tiring now that everyone is doing it.

Ehh, Shapell was good. But now every black comedian is trying to imulate him. It's like guys, being Shapell doesn't make you funny. Being Shapell made Shapell funny before he went crazy.
In all fairness, Dane Cook's early stuff made me laugh. But now he just seems like cheerful background noise to me. He's the guy who'd say something like "I was sitting on my patio, ya know. I was doing some patio sitting if you would or will, then like this fuckin' bird came and landed on the arm of my chair! It's like what the fuck! There's a fuckin' bird on the arm of my chair!"
Foxworthy has alwas been awesome. Granted, the redneck routine is getting a touch old now that Lary the Cable Guy does the same thing without the You Might Be A Redneck thing, but I like it in small doses.
And for the instraments in the acts, I wasn't talking about how like Demetry Martin plays a piano in his act or how Mike Verbiglia brings up a guitar to just play while he's talking. I meant more the comics who write songs that are of a suggestive and questionable nature. Like Rodney Carington's "Dear Penis" or Stephen Lynch's "Special Olimpics" song.
